Backend Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience building and operating Java and Spring Boot microservices for enterprise systems — 10 services built from scratch, serving 9 enterprise customers.
Most of my work lives where failures happen outside the application's control: legacy ERPs, SOAP timeouts, malformed SFTP files, partial synchronizations, and datasets of up to 8.5 million records. That's pushed me toward reliability-focused design — idempotent operations, layered retries, versioned data refreshes, and protection against destructive updates.
I own systems beyond feature delivery, through deployment, production incidents, and root-cause fixes on Kubernetes. I'm currently deepening my distributed-systems and event-driven architecture skills, with Kafka as my next focus.

Aug 2023 – Present. Building and operating backend systems for enterprise clients across integration, data, and infrastructure workstreams.
Backend Systems & Delivery
- Designed and developed 10 backend services from scratch within a microservice architecture using Java and Spring Boot, covering API design, business logic, persistence, integrations, and production deployment.
- Contributed to approximately 34 backend services across 15 projects, supporting enterprise customer workflows and internal platforms.
Enterprise Integrations
- Built and maintained more than 10 third-party and system integrations for 9 enterprise customers using REST, SOAP/XML, and SFTP/FTP-based data exchange.
- Developed backend workflows across orders, stock, invoices, payments, discounts, pricing, reporting, and ERP synchronization.
Reliability & Resilience
- Designed layered retry strategies that separate transport-level failures (exponential backoff + jitter) from domain-level retries for ERPs that accept requests but process them later.
- Implemented idempotent payment and balance operations so retried requests never cause duplicate deductions.
- Built versioned full/delta synchronization and resilient SFTP ingestion (charset fallbacks, malformed-file handling) that never replaces valid data until the incoming dataset is confirmed usable.
Data & Performance
- Developed and optimized PostgreSQL queries, stored procedures, and data-processing jobs operating on datasets containing up to 8.5 million records.
- Improved database-heavy synchronization and batch-processing workflows by reducing redundant scans and unnecessary writes.
Async Processing & Search
- Designed asynchronous processing pipelines with dedicated executor pools and CompletableFuture for high-volume integration workloads.
- Developed Elasticsearch-based search and aggregation functionality, including advanced querying, pagination, and geospatial search.
Production Ownership
- Investigated and permanently fixed production incidents involving JVM memory pressure/OOM, SOAP timeouts, connection pool exhaustion, missing PostgreSQL partitions, and transaction issues.
- Worked with Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes (AWS EKS, Azure AKS) across deployment, resource configuration, and incident resolution, using Grafana and Jaeger for diagnostics.

Reliability
Resilient SFTP Ingestion
Designed SFTP file ingestion that tolerates messy upstream data: multiple charset fallbacks (UTF-8, Windows-1254, ISO-8859-9), malformed CSV parsing, multipart file ordering, and archive/error handling. Existing data is never truncated until the incoming data is confirmed usable.

Layered Retries & Idempotency
Separated transport retries (exponential backoff + jitter) from domain-level retries for ERPs that process requests asynchronously, and made payment and balance operations idempotent so retries never double-charge.
